For FAnews, January brings with it the excitement of filming yet another magnificent season of The Insurance Apprentice.
From the tasks and judges, to the contestants taking part in the competition, and the viewers watching the final product, it is always exciting to see how TIA changes lives and people’s perceptions of the insurance industry every year.
Out with the old, in with the new
Filming of the sixth series has begun with exciting new developments at play and many twists and turns.
For those that are unaware, the 2020 installment started off on an exciting note when it was revealed that Letlhogonolo Tau, Manager of Business Development at Santam, will be playing a very important role in #TIA2020. Tau will be our TIA2020 host and will indulge viewers in some interesting tid-bits and behind the scenes scoops.
It was also revealed that there would be nine instead of eight apprentices taking part in the 2020 series… something that has never happened before. This on its own, adds a whole new dynamic to the competition.
Once episodes start to air, viewers will also notice a change to the format of some of the tasks as we have taken it up a notch. Going from boardroom style, one of the tasks sees a hot debate with some heated audience engagement, while another is set to take place in a completely different environment.
Filming is taking place from 17 to 24 January 2020. The series will be aired from 7 February 2020 via the FAnews and The Insurance Apprentice websites, YouTube and Facebook. You can look forward to an episode each Friday from then on for seven weeks.
Win R20 000 and earn CPD
The Insurance Apprentice 2020 will see the #superfan competition once again, where someone stands a chance to win R20 000 sponsored by Constantia Insurance, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) attached to episodes, and so much more!
During each episode a specific question will be asked and the #superfan will be the person who answers these correctly. The #Superfan will be invited to the event where the winner is announced and will receive a R20 000 cash prize.
CPD hours will be attached to episodes. Focused on each task at the end of every episode, there will be questions asked with a CPD concept for readers/viewers.
Like the previous series, the apprentices face a challenging week of tasks and intense grilling from the panellists, as they try to mark their spot and prove that they are the best. Added to this, and setting the bar higher, some apprentices will see the harsh judgment of the panellists as they face possible elimination every day.
The X Factor
The sixth series will see nine apprentices; Amogelang Kgaladi (FirstRand Short-Term Insurance), JP Ellis (Constantia Insurance), Kanchaal Mahabeer (Power Brokers & Financial Services), Memory Zimba (Centriq), Nabeelah Maharaj (Santam), Sebastian Reddy (Old Mutual Insure), Siphamandla Dube (Hollard), Vicky Sebothoma (Aon Re Africa) and Yaseen Essop (RBS Insurance Brokers) competing against each other in an intense learning experience, to be crowned the winner of The Insurance Apprentice 2020 and walk away with fantastic prizes.

Added by Nikita Naidoo, 20 Jan 2020Especially because one of my favourites Kanchaal Mahabeer is a contestant in this years TIA2020. I am so excited and so proud of how far she has come especially being appointed Key Individual at PowerBrokers in 2016, founded by Mr Shakti Bunwarie her phenomenal father, this has definitely been an amazing road for her. She is one bright, intelligent and ambitious young woman. All the best Kanchaal :) Enjoy this amazing experience. Report Abuse
