The Insurance Apprentice series three entries close

Entries for series three of The Insurance Apprentice officially closed on 30 September with just over 131 applications received. The highest number of applications received since its inception in 2015.

This year once again proves that the applications received have been of high quality, with a host of professions from various age groups that boast the career paths of the insurance industry. 

This time around, as the team is taking it regional, the competition is proving to be attractive as it sees the likes of Cape Town and Durban contestants vying for a spot in the top eight. 

What’s next?

So what now? Having closed entries for the competition on 30 September, the next step is to move onto the elimination rounds. 

In the past, contestants were invited to an elimination round in Johannesburg but this year The Insurance Apprentice team decided to bring in a new twist by going bigger and better. 

By now many of you already know this year that we are taking it regional and will be conducting elimination rounds in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban to give others who are not based in Johannesburg a fair and equal chance to get into the top eight.

Rianet Whitehead, Editor of FAnews and the creator of The Insurance Apprentice says, “it is a priority to attract the necessary talent and that is why we decided to take it regional this year to reach a broader audience.” 

The few selected candidates that have been chosen to go through to the second round, which is the elimination round, will be notified during this first week of October and invited to what we call, ‘an interview session’ filled with fun tid bits and a little bit of seriousness. 

For those candidates that make it through to the second round, elimination dates are as follows: 

•          Durban 11 October;
•          Cape Town 13 October; and
•          Johannesburg 19 October 

Once this adventure is complete, panelists will then sift through these applications in order to reach the final destination in determining the top eight for The Insurance Apprentice 2017.

With a mixed pot of applications it makes it that much more difficult to determine and draw down the final eight as we are seeing a lot of potential in all regions.
