19 August 2022 Rianet Whitehead

The Insurance Apprentice is recruiting for TIA2023 contestants. The search is on for the top talent… and the big news is that the competition is going back to in-person elimination rounds and filming. Simon (aka Judge Dread) gives us some insight on the format for TIA2023… have a look HERE

If you think you have what it takes to be the next Insurance Apprentice, then apply.

Do you have what it takes to win?

Roxanne Griffiths, winner of the first Insurance Apprentice, recently shared how she often gets asked “what does it take to win?”

Her response… “It takes adaptability, resilience in the face of adversity, endurance, humility and grit, and the ability to work with different personalities. These are the few characteristics, in my view, that separate the good from the great. Set your doubts aside and apply! Afterall, he who dares, wins”.

So, do you have what it takes to win? If yes, then The Insurance Apprentice may be for you…

Why should I enter? What’s in it for me?

The exposure provided by The Insurance Apprentice enhances a person’s credibility as an insurance professional. It gives people the opportunity to challenge themselves, to grow on a personal and professional level and showcase what they are all about so that they can grow within their own companies.

If you make it to the winning line, you walk away with some cash prizes and an amazing prize package from Lloyd’s of London. Not to mention the perks of making it to the Top 10 of The Insurance Apprentice is getting amazing gifts.

If you are still not certain about entering… The Insurance Apprentice 2022 magazine is a fantastic read about the competition itself and has some good content about why this industry is an industry with a lot of opportunities.

What is the criteria to enter?

You can apply if you are 35 years or younger, and you have four or more years short-term insurance industry (any part of it) experience.

We are looking for young people who work in the short-term industry, be it at a brokerage, insurer, underwriting manager, loss adjuster, administrator or anywhere else to enter this exciting programme.

The Insurance Apprentice 2023 applications close 30 September. To enter, simply visit https://www.theinsuranceapprentice.co.za/application-form/ fill out your application and submit it. Please make sure you read the terms and conditions before you enter and remember to send us your application before 30 September 2022.

Once entries close

Once applications close on 30 September, a regional roundtrip will take place in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, in search for the top talent. If you have been chosen to go through to this round, you will be notified. This will happen in October – so it’s one day out of office in October.

After the elimination rounds, the top 30 will be invited to a Joburg elimination round, where they will fight for their spot in the top 10. This will happen in November, and we will fly the Durban and Cape Town contestants in for the day. One day out of the office… one day to invest in giving your career a decent boost. On this day we will announce the top 10 contestants for TIA2023.

Filming will take place at the end of January 2023. The series will be aired early 2023 via the FAnews and The Insurance Apprentice websites, YouTube and Facebook.

So far, the following sponsors have confirmed their involvement for TIA2023: Discovery Insure, Elite Risk Acceptances, the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), Lloyd’s, Marsh, SHA Risk Specialists and XonRisk.

Writer’s Thoughts:
Push yourself out of your comfort zone, challenge yourself and take the chance. You have absolutely nothing to lose. If you consider doing this but you are a bit unsure, please reach out to me. If you want me to connect you with any of the previous contestants, I will gladly do so. And a note… this process does not take you away from the office too long, so don’t let that be a concern. Just do it!! You will thank me later. You can email me.
