#Insurance… a career of choice

It has been weeks filled with challenging and exciting tasks as the apprentices rally through their second last task for The Insurance Apprentice 2019. Having said goodbye to eliminated apprentice, Jake Pennacchini, the race to the finish line is getting intense.

Part of The Insurance Apprentice series is to showcase insurance as a career of choice to a bigger audience. Occupations in the insurance industry are not seen as a first choice for many people and most people end up in the industry 'by accident'.

We would like to thank Inseta for sponsoring the sixth episode of The Insurance Apprentice 2019.

Task six #acareerininsurance

In episode six, task six, sponsored by Inseta, the apprentices have the opportunity to influence a mix of grade 11 and 12 learners at Florida Park High School, a public school situated in the West Rand, Johannesburg, to join the insurance industry.

The apprentices were tasked with sharing some detail around two of the scarce and critical occupations in the insurance industry, namely an insurance broker and an underwriter.

Their task involved some background research into the above occupations and designing a poster portraying the chosen career, with a progression plan of how one can become a broker or underwriter. They had to give a brief introduction to the students on what the occupation/job is all about, why the occupation is scarce or critical to the insurance industry, what subjects one needs to complete in school and what qualification a person requires in university or college to enter this occupation.

Did they win the learners over and cover the required mandate set out by Judge Simon, Judge Kedi and guest Judge Adeline Singh, Manager in the Office of the CEO?
