Something new from Santam

14 December 2004 Angelo Coppola

Steffen Gilbert, CE of Santam says this is a 24/7 claims and emergency helpline for brokers and policyholders.

Policyholders or their broker will be able to call 0860 505 911 to register the claim and get help immediately.

Gilbert says Santam has agreements with South African Towing and Recovery Association (SATRA) as well as approved service providers. This means that a car will only be towed away once the Santam MultiSOS call centre has been notified and an authorisation number has been issued to the SATRA approved service provider.

"This should also have the effect of reduced insurance complaints in the industry by limiting policyholder exposure to poor service in the repair process. Too many promises are being made by tow truck operators, brokers, panel beaters and claims staff that can't be delivered on."
